If you are desiring to work with an adult with intellectual disabilities, after registering, please edit your profile to tell us more about yourself. Then join the CSW Group.
Here are our guidelines for Community Support Workers:

    Job performance guidelines for IDSDN

Participants in the IDSDN aspire to a high standard. Parents, care givers and clients desire the highest possible level of care that is grounded in a Christian value system.

    Reliable transportation, insurance

In most cases, the CSW needs to provide their own cell phone for emergencies.

You must be prompt and reliable.

    High moral, ethical, legal standards

Focused on the needs of the participant.

Personal communication is done on your own time. This includes phone calls, texts, emails, etc.

Personal tasks and activities are done on your own time. This includes your shopping, pick up or dropping off items, etc. No personal errands

Activities and speech must match those of the participant (example: No foul language)

Occasionally, there may be exceptions to these, but please check with the parent / primary care giver or support broker.

Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in your dismissal as well as your removal of your profile from IDSDN

FYI, we do not endorse you because you join the network, and in fact, and we reserve the right to remove you.
